I’ve thought about that moment since and wished I’d had the presence of mind to make a scene. Like what if I’d been in the self-help section, my pants split, and I just started sobbing and throwing paperbacks about “finding your bliss”?

I really should get those pants mended. They’re good pants.

I swear I’m not a blog stalker! But I do love your blog. I was just reading part of this post to G (because I was laughing out loud and felt the need to share) and further out-loud laughing ensued… especially regarding the clown/toddler look.

My comment is that I love that your writing sounds just like a conversation with you.

G’s comment is that you probably really were looking at porn when your pants ripped. Either way, thanks for a laugh.

So glad to find someone else who (gasp) doesn’t label her vegetable garden. I was tardy and planted my seeds just before the gully washer, so some of the seeds just washed away , others coming up in strange places. Think I’ll have to make a trip to Freddy’s and buy some starts. Good luck with those tomatoes!

I think it’s great your running for the LLS! While I underwent treatment for NHL last year, the LLS was a huge support. They helped us make informed decisions and offered the emotional and sometimes the financial support we needed. One year into my remission, I’m contemplating running the Kiawah Island Half-marathon in SC. You’ve inspired me!

Those ‘Couverites definitely need to have people like you to call them out on their lame-ass behavior! Go Temple!

Just last night I had a similar incident on my way home on my bike (not even in The Couv!), and as luck would have it, the people in the car were getting out of the car just as I caught up with them. What’s odd is that I was the most calm I think I’ve ever been in that sort of situation, but they still wouldn’t even listen to anything I had to say (not that I was trying to say that much). I’m thinking about writing a letter inviting them to give me a call when they’re ready to have an adult conversation instead of just yelling “move along now!” over what I’m trying to communicate to them. I guess it’s lucky I know where they live, and not the other way around. : )

Ouch! When I was in high school I did a two week summer intensive class with Susannah. She’s a very nice person. I remember her saying her dad was an actor, and it wasn’t until I was watching The Producers for the second time that I realized exactly *who* her dad was. WOW.

That having been said, I loved her in Bat Boy: The Musical at PCS, but have never been a fan of cabaret/lounge-singing. But I guess that’s her known strength.
